The
building has Georgian facades and an internal framed
structure inserted in the 1960s. The newscheme re-organises
the basement and ground floor, previously let as a
bar, to allow for office expansion andd flooring,
an a ground floor reception and meeting rooms. Due
to a level change between the pavement and groun internal
curved timber and steel ramp was introduced to comply
with the DDA. Natural materials, eg oak, maple and
slate floor were incorporated in the design. The new
entrance frontage has a contemporary glazed design
to maximise natural light and give an active feature
to the street. |
